The National Psychiatric Award of Professor Vladimír Vondráček is awarded annually in cooperation with the Czech Psychiatric Society from the funds of the Vondráček Foundation in recognition of outstanding work in two categories - scientific research and practical application. The theme of the year 2024 was Depression and Suicidality - Prevention and Treatment.
RNDr. Michal Pitoňák, Ph.D. from the Department of Sociology and from the Gender Studies Programme of the Faculty of Humanities at Charles University with his colleague Mgr. Martin Čihák from the National Institute of Mental Health and colleague Prof. Sharon Horne from Boston University were awarded for their innovative scientific work in the field of suicidality of LGBT+ people, the first of its kind in the Czech Republic.
